A continuous, but relatively small news story followed Obama when he won the election. Would he be able to keep his Blackberry once he was sworn in as President?
Apparently, they found a way for him to keep it.
What is interesting is that when I made a comment on Twitter/Facebook about my excitement that he was able to keep his Blackberry, some friends commented they were disappointed. One cited rudeness as the reason. Others did not give a reason.
For me, I am glad he is keeping the Blackberry. It goes with the job. I like the idea that the president of our country can stay in constant contact with his staff and family. I like the idea that he can stay current on activities and activities happening everyday as well as weigh in immediately when needed.
What are your thoughts on the president keeping his Blackberry?

I think in deferance to his mantra of ethnic diversity his new techno-communication device should be called a Mulattoberry.

It’s a huge change from the previous administration, GW went ballistic if he so much as heard a mobile phone or bb in vibrate mode during meetings.
And, surely it’s nice to think he doesn’t “need” the bb per say, because he’s got people who serve those functions and will come get him, no matter where he is… but will they do that if he’s meeting with Putin and his daughter calls to tell him she made the volleyball team? Nothing like 2 kids in school to force real life in your face in the most inconvienant times… and I’d like to think they don’t outsource the raising and management of their kiddos, although could be smoking socks there.
Curious about something though… WHO actually decided whether or not the President of the United States could keep his blackberry?
At least we don’t have to worry about him driving and using his BB at the same time!
I agree with all of the above and worry about the security of the Blackberry.
His Blackberry is secure.

It’s great to be connected. The blackberry is a “special” one which would cost the consumer about $3,500 to purchase and it’s controlled by intelligence. Could you imagine having to be on a phone all day when you can just type a message and get a response. I’m all for the blackberry. I’m sure he has some really cool war games on it too – LOL…
I think keeping in touch is the main goal of a president, and it appears our new president is always in touch and in the know. So however he does it; via blackberry, iPhone, email, etc I know I want a president who knows what’s going on. We’ve had eight years of a president who clearly didn’t know his a** from a hole in the ground.
Wonder how many hackers are trying to hack in right now to BO’s blackberry. Someone will do it–just like hacking into the I-phone.
