Space Shuttle Simulator

Did I mention we were extremely fortunate to have the privilege of riding in the Space Shuttle Simulator a few months ago? It was amazing!

Not much to look out on the outside (it’s just a box), but inside is the exact set-up as the cockpit of the shuttle. Yes, this is how the astronauts practice. We were able to experience a take-off and each had the opportunity to land the shuttle. They graded us and yes, I did do better than my hubby.  🙂

Afterwards, you sign a book to ensure you are a part of history – you experienced the space shuttle simulator. Presidents, famous personalities and other lucky people have signed this book. I don’t know where it is going to end up, but I am thrilled that my family and I are a tiny part of the shuttle’s history.

I share this because it was extremely memorable and won’t happen again – for obvious reasons. I also share this because while my daughter enjoyed the experience, kids will be kids and when she got bored, she started watching a movie – while on the simulator.
