It’s happened

Yes, it has happened.

I have resorted to the ultimate bribe/threat this Christmas season.

When my daughter begins to throw a tantrum or start disobeying, I say to her, “Do I have to call Santa and tell him not to bring you any presents for Christmas?”

As she believes in Santa, it works. Yet I laugh at myself whenever I say that to her.

  1. Use it while you can?? We capitalize on the concept of the ELVES too… the little large eared critters leave “presents”… little things like stickers & crayons, etc… every few days… from Thanksgiving to Christmas… I do realize it’s a little “big brother” BUT EFFECTIVE! AND – she is still trying to get me to call Santa while she’s around… I told her that Santa will NOT answer the phone if a mommy or daddy calls, when the child is around – HE KNOWS.

Unfortunately, despite all the subterfuge… it’s a short lived period of leverage… already waning and we’re barely mid Dec?
